Spring is certainly on the way at last!

Well it was when I started writing this, then along came the snow and the cold, such that takes me back many years!

Unfortunately it also took our water pipes by surprise and froze them. The result in a nutshell was a burst pipe and water coming in the ceiling in one room. We got that sorted but still the main water supplies to the kitchen were frozen solid. The water fortunately found its way through at three o'clock Sunday morning. You might say its a good job there were no guests in, there were! Four lovely people, two clergymen and their wives who stayed for a four night break, well they certainly stayed they couldn't get out. They spent most of their time in the lounge by the log burner very happy and content to just relax and enjoy the enforced rest.

But things do move on and it does feel as though Spring is now on the way despite the delay. Christine is well on the way to full recovery and is now cooking breakfasts so those of you who may have stayed away in fear of my culinary skills or lack of can now book with the certain knowledge of an excellent breakfast.

We made some changes to the area around the Hobbit House barbecue last Autumn bring in new specimen trees and having the larger trees uplifted to let in more light and promote growth. We intend to make more use of the Hobbit House barbecue this year and will be inviting any of you who may be staying at the time to join us and enjoy the area and maybe a sausage or two! Of course anyone who wants to use the Hobbitt House and have their own barbecue is welcome to do so, just let us know before arrival.

We do have limited availability for Spring Breaks with our Take a Break Direct. Take the opportunity to spend a few days in the Heart of Suffolk and relax in the gardens at Drinkstone Park. Enjoy complimentary Tea and Scones in the lounge or patio on arrival. Wake up to the peace and tranquillity of the gardens with a leisurely breakfast freshly cooked to your order. Visit the many places of interest in Suffolk then to complete your day a small decanter of port will be in your room for your enjoyment and relaxation.

Bookings for the summer period are filling quickly and we are looking forward to seeing many old friends returning. We hope you are among them. Please be aware that the Garden Rooms (Peach and Red) can only be booked direct, on our website or Facebook.

For our guests who stay less than three nights due to work commitments or family booking direct will give you the absolute best deal available on the day.

Finally may I say on behalf of myself Christine, Tegan and George how much we look forward to seeing you this year.

Suffolk is coming to life for the Spring Season right now, come and see for yourself take a few days away and see the wonders of Springtime in Suffolk and take time to relax with the gardens at Drinkstone and of course Christine's wonderful breakfast.
