Slow Down for Christmas at Drinkstone ?

Just when we thought we could slow down and catch a breath after a very busy, successful and enjoyable year!

Douglas a 9 month old American Cocker Spaniel joins Tegan 'Tic Toc Teglington' and Grumpy George at Drinkstone Park.

All going well, although he certainly has some learning to do!

'Take a Winter Break' our take a break offer for the colder months is available until end of February, a few days away with a log burner in the lounge and Christine's tea and scones, stay warm, escape and leave the hustle and bustle behind. Why not come yourself or give as a Christmas gift, our popular 'Take a Break' Gift Cards can be sent, just contact Christine to arrange for you.

How to create an 'Ambers Special' this now famous healthy start for the day, originates from my sister Karen who serves this at her home in Turkey.

Take your cereal bowl, add a good spoonful of porridge oats, now just cover the oats with pomegranate juice. Let this soak in and then add two good dollops of thick Greek yoghurt. Next cut up some fruit, grapes, blackberries, raspberries, banana, anything that suits your taste. Drizzle a little Suffolk honey over this, now sprinkle sunflowers seeds on the top. Finally perch a physalis on the top (if you must). This with a quiet sit down and perhaps a cup of coffee to accompany?

For one it was not an 'Ambers Special' but a surprise birthday cake and celebration breakfast. Steve had no idea this was happening!

This was followed by a surprise video call from their friends in Texas who were with them when they first stayed with us at Drinkstone. These friends have a B&B so anyone going to Texas get in touch.

Our new super fast broadband is a real hit with our regular guests and does make our life far easier! We do shortly close down for the Christmas period, although we do have some lovely folk staying in the lead up to New Year. To be honest if the house is empty it feels strange. There are lots of bookings coming in already for next year, we are not releasing our ground floor garden rooms to online travel agents until the New Year. These are only bookable direct with us.

It only remains to say thank you to our guests, many of whom stay regularly and can honestly be called friends. Happy Christmas to you all, one time visitors or friends indeed we appreciate you all, you are all welcome (well most)

Kind regards

Michael and Christine
